3 shows that should've ended earlier
This may be the first edition of this article.
With Dexter coming up on my list soon, I know this list will grow. There's also such an issue with shows going on for too long just because the fansbase keeps it alive. Grey's Anatomy or even Supernatural really didn't have to last over 10 years - Honestly no show should last more than 10 years. As much as we may love the characters, the writing struggles to mean anything. Usually, characters have a full developing arc within several seasons or less. In order to keep a plot going, the integrity of the characters or established lore is often tarnished to help invent a useless narrative that just ruins everything. End on a high, don't drain the characters until there's nothing left.
With that being said, here are a few shows that I've watched that could've ended way sooner.
The Walking Dead
I never even finished my original marathon. I think I made it to season 5 or 6 and started to dislike the direction. At the time, I saw the show was still going and decided to wait and see what happened. I am quite disappointed they ended when they did when they eneded up creatng spin offs with the best characters - spin offs that actually seemed interesting and not the same old crap season after season in the main show. They should've ended when Rick was written off and THEN proceded to these spinoffs. In a way the series is STILL going. We just don't wanna let go of Norman Reedus.
Bones
One of my favorite shows in middle and high school - I essentially believe the show should've eneded with the Bones and Booth wedding. First of, Sweets is alive. Second of all, I just felt like it was a full circle moment that would've been a great series finale. They got married in the field where they shared a scene together in the pilot and Brennan's vows was the the letter she wrote in the grave digger episode in season 2. Everyone was there. and everyone was happy.
The Office
Now ths show had a phenomenal cast and they all worked so well. It might honestly surprise people how they just weren't able to keep the show going too much longer after Steve Carrell's depatrure. The Office needed Michael Scott. Dwight tried his darnest to carry the show on his shoulders, but it wasn't ebough as those last two seasons were amongst the weakest of the series. Michael is the anchor being.
