JUNE WATCH PARTY - Always Be My Maybe (2019), The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), The Devil Is a Part-Timer!

"Everyone assumed that Sasha and Marcus would wind up together, except for Sasha and Marcus. Reconnecting after 15 years, the two start to wonder--maybe?"

A prophecy has been fulfilled.

The problem about my watch list is that it's so long that it will take me like 5 years to watch a movie after adding it to the list. This means I'll add a movie and forget why I added when I watch it - so the movie experience becomes me trying to figure out why I was compelled to watch it in the first place. Basically, I watched this movie for the memes. Specifically for the gifs I downloaded onto my phone on 2019. Keanu was hands down the highlight of the film. He is a treasure.

The actual rom com that Always Be My Maybe is also good. The main characters had a solid heartfelt story between them and adding on to their quirkiness made for a solid experience. Basically, if I watch this again, I'll watch the whole thing and not just skip to Keanu's scenes.

My Rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆

"A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional career."

IMDB

Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me.

Finally got around to this film and I knew I'd cry. Life just isn't fair, but this was such an inspirational story of perseverance. Chris was literally rock bottom, but with hard work and determination, he was able to begin the climb up. As someone who is still waiting for their "moment of happyness," it's always good to see movies like this just give myself a moment of self reflection and affirmation. What do people say? Rome wasn't built in a day?

My Rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆

"Hilarity and fun ensues when Satan ends up in modern day Japan without any magic to return, and starts working part time in a fast food joint."

IMDB

Not a movie, but an anime I checked out recently. Satan works part time at a fictional McDonald's in Japan. Even watching a few episodes should be enough. But this is exactly why I support anime as a significant contribution to entertainment and pop culture. Like where else would you get a plot like this other than Supernatural???

My Rating: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
