I did come across The Karate Kid in my youth. I know it was spammed on TV back when the Jaden Smith remake came out, so I caught the original movies then. I don’t know — it was never really my thing. In terms of ’80s classics, I enjoyed The Goonies much more. In terms of martial arts content, my generation had Avatar: The Last Airbender. Karate Kid was just something I didn’t latch onto.
