Top 3 shows with perfect endings

Fresh off the series finale of Stranger Things, I think many people were disappointed that the final season as a whole just didn't stick the landing. Ending an epic show is extremely hard to do. Most shows fall flat in the end, even some of the best of them. However, here are 3 shows that were good from start to finish with an ending that did justice to the story and all of its characters.

Last Airbender

Aang set out to learn 4 elements to defeat the Firelord and that's exactly what he did. The two water tribe peasants became warriors and helped him do it. Full circle. What more can we want? 3 seasons of epic fights leads to the ultimate final battles that are unlike anything we've seen. Aang's element ball of death, the agni kai, Toph turning into the door - the action level actually felt like the end - take notes Stranger Things. An evil regime has fallen and peace is restored. Our main characters experienced a lot of personal growth to get there. Easy.

I think what really pulls the series finale together is seeing our two main boys stand in front of the world as fully redeemed characters ready to start a new era. Since the Storm episode in season 1, both Aang & Zuko were trying to seek redemption within themselves and that has been a major theme of the show. Aang felt guilt and loss for not being there with his people during the holocaust. Zuko struggle to find his path, made a lot of mistakes, and constantly questioned his honor. So not only did they crate peace in the world, they created peace in themselves, and this was so satisfying to see.

Breaking Bad

This is a show that never truly had a peak, whether it's for it's series wide consistency or the fact that the action was continuously more intense with each passing episode. While it was a great character study to watch Walter White become the villain in his own story, we all knew there had to be a breaking point. This idea was planted as soon as we learned his brother in law was DEA in the first ever episode. I'm sure there's a Trojan Horse analogy in there somewhere. Season 5 saw Heisenberg's empire fall down. The White family fell apart. Did this do just to the characters justice? Yes because this was a story about a drug lord who was gonna die from cancer. It was never going to end well.

However, what made the series finale so great was Walter & Jesse. Jesse was able to escape and may have a 2nd chance at life (I haven't seen post finale content yet). Walter White became Heisenberg so his family had money left behind when he died. While his original goal was overshadowed by Walter's own high being Heisenberg, his family ended up with a fortune and it all came full circle as this complex character was laid to rest.

Succession

What more can I say about the show that I haven't already. When I rewatch the first season, I can't help but think about the events of the final season. You see the seeds of the series finale being planted as early as the pilot episode in season 1. Throughout the show, many events & comments just parallel to season 4 in a way that's almost foreshadowing. I think all the siblings end right where they were destined to be - a bunch of nobodies who thought they were more. Tom, on the other hand, started at the bottom. He was smart to who he was servile to and that gave him the Iron Throne. I think Kendall fans were upset by how things ended. But as I've said, it was written in season 1.
