Succession - the Final Season

"The Roy family is known for controlling the biggest media and entertainment company in the world. However, their world changes when their father steps down from the company."

THE FINAL SEASON

So Gregg starts off the season with the reputation of being a playboy? #disgustingbrothers It's so interesting how we all view Gregg as the only one with a moral compass, but we really see in season 4 that he's just a Roy like everyone else.

It's so funny knowing Shiv is pregnant before it's revealed. The way she acted after her phone call with Tom I was like "lmao omg hormonal much?" Even Roman was like dude chill?

I noticed, okay. She drinks water whenever alcohol is present or only takes a few sips when she has alcohol. She didn't do drugs with Mattson. The morning after Logan died, a grieving Shiv is told her baby is healthy & there's so many emotions on her face. She was caressing her stomach in the last episode before Kendall came over to her. She wants to be a mom and cares about her child and I will die on that hill.

Let's talk about Tom.

I didn't mention it before, but while at Caroline's wedding, he did some sort of conference call about how ATN has succeeded under his watch. It's basically like when Dunder Mifflin was going bankrupt & the executives were asking Michael Scott how the f his Scranton branch was holding the company on its shoulders. This is also why I think he succeeds as CEO. He's Michael Scott. You just never realized.

Getting into season 4, he's Logan's go-to man. Season 4 Tom carries himself with such confidence in a way we've never seen in prior seasons. Being under Logan's trust and separated from Shiv I guess has done wonders. Even after Logan's death, Tom plays it as cool as he can as Waystar's most loyal servant. Even if they don't take him seriously, it's not because Tom isn't playing his cards right. It's a struggle for survival towards the end. Tom's smart & knows how to recognize the winning side when he sees it. I mentioned before he always served Logan's side as the kids could never beat him. That remains to be truthful even after his death - which is how & why he ends up in Mattson's corner in the finale.

The siblings don't seem to be doing well. They're attempting to start their own company, but it's not that they care about a successful company, they're just trying to beat Logan at his own game. Honestly, Roman doesn't seem to care about doing that either, like he's just not enthusiastic about anything.

They are also never in sync. Shiv & Kendall gang up on Roman - they just don't take him seriously. Roman & Shiv will always turn on Kendall anytime he suggests they work under him. Kendall & Roman are constantly undermining Shiv & she never feels respected.

It's been interesting to watch the siblings fall off the ego & entitlement & realize that they are, as Roman puts it, bullshit. Different moments & facial expressions signified every time they fell down another level of insignificance as the life they knew faded away around them. There's like a solid timeline for each of them in regards to this concept.

Why is it that everyone's line delivery & actions are so down. Like all characters are walking & talking like they're defeated and/or depressed. Cuz they are. Gregg is the only one being presented with confidence and swagger. The bottom of the top seems nice this time of year.

Connor's karaoke scene. Everyone wanted to unalive themselves. 😂😂😂😂

Logan enters the party. This is the last time he talks to his children like this. Connor is just a suck up as always. I mean, he doesn't care what goes on. He tries to stay in Logan's corner and that's how he's been able to waste time drinking wine and trying to become president. The way Roman hung on Logan's apology reminded me on how Roman is the only one just hoping Logan would love and approve him as a son. Kendall & Shiv never really slid in that delusion that Roman has and even after recent events, this hasn't changed.  Shiv carries herself like she's better than him, as that's been her goal - to be better than her parents - but given her emotions, you can tell that's she's genuinely disappointed and hurt. Despite the fact that she knows exactly who her father is, his intention, his motives, his tactics - she still wants his love and approval. Except she doesn't have the false hope that she'll receive it the way Roman does.

This was such a great final moment as it reminds you what the dynamics are between Logan and each of his kids. They're all traumatized by him in different ways. These kids are like the 4 Houses but instead of Hogwarts it's abuse type by a psychotic rich father. Which house is Draco Malfoy in?

"You are not serious people."

That's it..... That was the last thing he ever said to Connor, Kendall, and Shiv...... Oh... My... God....

Logan tried inviting Roman back in last minute. Their dynamic has always been so interesting. It's clear that Roman has always been the literal punching bag as the only kid who was ever physically abused. But as a victim of this abuse, Logan has always had emotional manipulation over him more than any of the other kids as well. Roman knows who his dad is. He knows how he thinks. He knows when Logan is pulling the strings. But just like his siblings, he craves that approval. He would've been the first to break & crawl back if Logan started to win again. If he had lived, Roman would've went back. Full sibling betrayal.

Connor's Wedding. How do I even start breaking this episode down. I want to watch the episode again just to deep dive into everyone's reactions but like..... that's so sad.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE KENDALL THIS EPISODE. Kendall is a shit show but when it counts - he knows how to be a good big brother. He's trying to keep it together. His siblings are a wreck and he's trying to keep the focus and cool on this chaotic situation. Roman's world is falling apart. Logan was the center of all their world's for better or for worse. Roman proceeds to play it off with sarcasm as the Roys tend to do. Throwing around the "pre grieved" term and joking about trauma because that's his instinctive defense mechanism.

Shiv...... That's a little girl who lost her dad. Emmy award winning Sarah Snook when she said "daddy" 😭😭😭😭😭 Tom tells Shiv later how she is incapable of love but I honestly can't agree with that after watching this episode. Compare her devastation to her brothers just losing control. It's so different.

I absolutely love Tom in this scene. He showed all the siblings compassion & knew how to talk to them. No one else could've handled that phone call better. The way he talked to Shiv, despite their damaged relationship was so bittersweet. Shiv held the phone pretty much the entire time even if Tom wasn't talking. I think it was just to have him near for any updates, though they knew he was gone gone so I also think it was more to have just have him near for comfort.

After Shiv released the statement, Shiv accepted a hug from Tom - also very bittersweet. She ended up riding home with him, claiming she just wanted the rundown but I think it was just to be with him on the sad journey home so she wasn't alone.

This was such a human display of the characters. Tom is not the greatest guy, but he was emotionally available for Shiv as he's always been. And Shiv, despite her daddy issues and marital strife, still grieved and sought comfort like any normal person. Her brothers grieved in their own way and tried to comfort each other, but after getting to know them for over 3 seasons, I think we all understand why Tom's support was more effective.

Heartbreaking performances. Spectacular writing. Talk about Red Wedding am I right?

Doom is near. We're about to sit through 6 episodes of Logan winning from beyond the grave as the Roy empire falls apart.

In episode 4, following Logan's death, obviously a lot of business crap had to be accomplished. Namely - interim CEO. In the end, with the push of Kendall & Rome, the COOs take the temporary position. Shiv is thrown aside and just like that - Tom just won the game of thrones.

Oh what did I just say? Yeah. The way Shiv was sidelined during the interim CEO discussion, how does Shiv not expect for something similar to happen when one of them is officially CEO? Thus directly impacts Shiv's vote later & I can't believe there are people on the Internet still shocked over this "plot twist." It's been written this whole time.

I loved the staircase scene when Tom brought up how they first dated in France. Tom tries to connect with the brothers as a safety precaution. He knows his life is in their hands unless Mattson steps up, so he made himself available as a "humble servant" by using that compassion manipulatively. However, with Shiv, I also think it was him trying to remind her how he's been there for Shiv in the past and is still open to be with her now. It's him trying to convince her to keep his job as well as convincing her to keep him as her husband. It's heartwarming despite Tom's little Slytherin ambition. In the context of the Roys' - this was as genuine as Tom can be given the circumstances.

Norway - the brothers trying to make a deal with Mattson really highlights how not together the COO bros are. It's interesting that each sibling is like Logan in their own different ways - so you'd think together they be the perfect Logan & maybe that's the problem.

Loved Kieran during Roman's rant. Such a great moment for Roman too. He's never certain about anything & tries to hide is insecurity & lack of confidence behind anger or sarcastic jokes.

The way Shiv was like "up the price to get ATN" & that's what he did & the bros got the praise for victory. Shiv was like 😏

Tom, Karolina, Gerri are not on the kill list - dream team & even Mattson knows it. 👌

What is Shiv thinking about this "girl on the inside" thing? She's ready to betray her brothers for the way they leave her out. But does she even like Mattson? Does she really want what he wants? That's the thing with Shiv is that she instinctively acts out immediately when she feels betrayed, which happens a lot, so literally half the time she's acting on that bitter instinct rather than well thought out decisions based intelligence or her genuine desires. She could be smart if she just stops and thinks sometimes.

Roman is going crazy & tried firing Gerri. He is starting to slip into his "we're bullshit" era. He's on the brink of failure & he's starting to lash out at everyone. Trying make them feel inferior to make him feel better. His asshole antics have at least been funny to watch up to this point. But he's starting to become not fun watch as Roman is spiraling out of control into the most bitter, angry, douchebag version of himself ever.

Not Tom flirting with Shiv through texts while he's got Gregg firing 30 people via zoom. Good scene.

Wait Connor actually made it to the ballot? 😂😂😂😂

"Hands on or overview?" Shiv was too hands on - she was being too pushy as the "adviser." Tom, as a servile prick, would be happy to just be overview. That one 60 second scene with Mattson, Tom, & Shiv was just a passing moment but insanely important.

Shiv is trying to beat her brothers but just doesn't understand the rules as much as she thinks she does. This goes back to season 1 when she didn't even care about the actual company but still wanted to be involved and have some control. She went out of her way to not be a part of Waystar and is so annoyed at the disrespect she's been getting as she's walked around like she owns the place, which she sort of does which makes it worse.

My favorite thing about the "your ears are chewy like barnacle meat" scene is how everyone on the internet sources this moment as the exact second Tom saved their marriage. This is the bickering married couple content I've been waiting for. Shiv also explains to Mattson how they broke each others hearts, so now we all know it's a level playing field. Then later in the episode, Shiv casually suggests cutting Cyd to leave Tom in charge then asks him out to dinner.... guys.... Flicking her ear probably did save their marriage.

"You're scheduling your grief" was honestly heartbreaking for me to watch. It's already established that showing emotion is considered a weakness and this is not the time for Shiv to appear weak. Tom was genuinely concerned and even though Shiv is like f off, he approaches her anyways. No one else would do that. He knows what she needs right now and she allows herself to cry when he offers his shoulder. Honestly top 3 moments of the couple ever. She needs him whether she wants to or not.

The Bitey scene kinda hits you on all angles. They were low key flirting as Shiv made jokes on their trauma. Bitey was a physical display of how Tom was not one of those "I tried playing with you & you broke" type of guys. Noting how this is one of the many scenes where I noticed both wearing their weddings rings - a conscious decision by the way.

The on screen chemistry between Matthew and Sarah has never been so intense until this episode. It literally took 3 & half seasons for their chemistry to shine like this & that indicates such a huge shift for Tom & Shiv. Shiv is wanting back in. Tom is still clearly hurt but also still cares about Shiv & is trying to help as she's dealing with her grief. Doesn't help that Shiv's instinctive response to any vulnerable emotion or moment is to play it off with sarcasm & pain.

"I'll always be caught between you & your dad." Tom admits he betrayed Shiv for money but then called her out as she would've done the same. "You kept me out." So he made that choice. But bro - even Tom is like you're as bad as me. The character himself just straight up said they were the same. They are both horrible. They were made for each other.

That scorpion gift was meant to be joke but it was also pretty cold as well. What does Shiv say later, "Here's a dead snake to wear as a necktie" or something. The snake and the scorpion. Again. They are both horrible. I just want to emphasize this because Tom simps are always talking shit about Shiv arguing that Tom could do better. It makes me laugh so much, but you guys are forgetting who Tom is fr fr.

I did break down the balcony quite a bit. This is why I released my "Tom and Shiv stay together" essay a couple days ago. Go check it out.

The chaotic Election episode. Some iconic Tom & Gregg moments to be sure and nothing but heartbreak & depression from Shiv.

And whyyyy she decided to try to apologize when Tom was having a panic attack over touch screens I will never understand. A pissed off Tom high on cocaine dropped the "you sort of killed your dad" line & Shiv's retaliation was basically "well fuck you I'm pregnant." Then Tom had the audacity to ask if it was true & Shiv looked utterly heartbroken. These people.....

The funeral. OMG.

Ewan's speech was fire. He said it like it was. After giving some insight to Logan's character, he didn't sugar coat anything. "We loved him in any way he would let us." Then he dropped the line  - "At some point he decided not to try anymore." I don't see too many people talk about Ewan's speech and I don't know why because it was the hard truth. I loved it. Superb character analysis to his own brother.

It's interesting how Roman lost his voice in his speech - sort of signifying how Logan was his voice because Roman was never really allowed to be his own. Ironically since this character is known to speak his unfiltered thoughts, but Roman couldn't just.... be without Logan, you know? Also applause Kieran Caulkin. Roman's breakdown, Dang. He spent 3 seasons being okay with not being okay. Since Logan died, he's been losing a lot of self control you never realized he had given how chaotic he is. He's resorted to anger more than humor & became more toxic in a not so fun way. The breakdown crumbled me.

Again, Kendall stepping up. You're proud of him, but you alos have to remember that he can't be that all the time. He has moments when  he is strong and put together. But he falters too much. That's the heartbreaking part about Kendall is that he can stand.... But he just can't stay standing no matter how much we all want him to. He's been such a balancing force so far, but I'm just waiting for him to crash down as I watch his great speech honoring his father.

Shiv saying "he kept you out" like she does the same exact thing. "But when he let you in it was warm." That's all they ever wanted and they never got it. Their goodbyes are so somber because their lives will forever be unfilled because of the emptiness he created in each of his kids.

Terrible but great. That's who Logan was.

Mattson has been playing game of thrones his way. Shiv thought she was the leading player, but was once again used as a pawn. Either way, she has still managed to pave the way of her family's destruction. The family loses because of her. What's that boomer saying - you make your bed, you lie in it, whatever.

The Final episode.

The way Kendall said "I got this" and then the theme plays for a final time. Heart stopped.

That cartoon showed Shiv pulling the strings, but I never really felt that was accurate. Shiv has been the inside man. Shiv was very direct & controlling which Mattson did not like, so it's no surprise that he was exploring different options if he could.

Tom went to plead his case just for job security & left the bar with the title of CEO. Gregg blabbed as usual. Instead of the end of all things, it only indirectly secures Shiv's vote later. Tom's wives placed him in the top.

Gregg & Tom are the same. They betray their favorite people for survival.

Omg I love them so much. I feel like I've blabbing about the siblings this whole time but our favorite couple has always carried the series and has continued to do so. They're often the highlight of many episodes and I miss them so much.

Shiv has been alone all season. Back and forth with Tom. Tossed aside by her brothers. Later tossed aside by Mattson. Why are people unsure that she is who she is and why do people not understand her final vote?

I really loved the final sibling moment before all hell broke loose. It makes you so sad, as they watch this happy video of their father, that they all could've been happy once. Had Logan been a better father, they wouldn't be so toxic and traumatized. Had Logan not been so manipulative, the siblings might have actually been siblings.

"Shiv... It's me..."

Tom.... Brother.... It is you. Has been for a long time. Bran the Broken. Welcome to the Iron Throne - which the metaphorical iron throne here at the end of Succession is also metaphorically on fire as it was at the end of Game of Thrones. The dragon is named Mattson.

The vote. There's a lot to unpack here.

While Kendall has been on focus this season, his arrogance has been showing since the funeral. It's a reminder on who he is. This is the Kendall that would've failed Waystar had the vote gone his way. Furthermore, Roman and Shiv will never work well under him. They knew this, but initially decided to remain loyal to Kendall just for the sake of going against Mattson and keeping the company with the family.

Roman had his doubts... But Shiv... She did not want a repeat of the rest of the season. She saw her brother's behavior before the vote and something snapped in her.

Shiv instinctively voted against Kendall. Almost all of Shiv's actions & decisions in the whole series have been instinctive reactions to get revenge on people who have wronged her. It's why she so easily turned on Mattson the day before & it's what she did after brothers kept pushing aside before that. After seeing Kendall's behavior that morning, Shiv's instinctive reaction was preemptive. Her vote was against Kendall. Not for Tom. Roman would have voted no if their argument happened first because those 2 have been so in sync as I have said before when it came to decisions.

Let's be clear here: Shiv did not vote for Tom, she voted against Kendall. So there's really no analysis to be done outside of the siblings. It just so happens that going against her brother one last time meant she would be the first lady and nothing more. I still think she would've voted this way had it not been Tom.

The argument between Kendall and Shiv is not only heartbreaking, but also ridiculous. This is a reminder that they are "not serious people" and are acting like children fighting over a toy. Kendall's rage convinces Shiv in the end but I think her mind was also made up. As Roman has said - they're bullshit. Roman has accepted this for a while. Shiv has just started to realize this. And Kendall is about to confront this fact as he leaves the meeting today.

Shout out to Roman who was about to accept abuse from Kendall but threw hands when Kendal touched Shiv. That's such a good analysis point on his stance as an abuse victim but also as Shiv's brother. As I've always said, those 2 have been on the same wave since all time. Roman doesn't mind being a punching bag but he will not let anyone touch his sister.

I know Kendall had a fanbase and people rooting for him. But he was never gonna work. As Tom has stated - He has seen Kendall get fucked, and has never seen Logan get fucked once. That's not just an observation on how Logan always wins. This is a defining trait that separates Kendall from his father. No matter how hard Kendall has tried or will ever try, he will never be like his father the way he wants to be. He is always programed to fail where Logan has succeeded. This is the great tragedy of the character.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how Logan won after he died.

"I got you." Disgusting brothers. The tomlette. Nero and Sporus. Together forever. the real victors on this day.

Roman is free from the family's cage. When he sits at the bar, he doesn't look the least bit upset and honestly seems content. He was only involved in the company for Logan. Without him around, why should he continue to be a part of it? He's relieved that nothing is expected of him anymore. But with that relief comes a sadness also. Without Logan, the lives of his children are empty. Roman is no exception because.... like... what now?

Shiv... This is where Reddit goes crazy.

Before we even get to the car scene, Shiv stands in the hallway and watched as her father's company is signed over to Mattson. Clearly she's disappointed about the circumstance. Her father's legacy just thrown over to this asshole and her sneaky husband. But she 100% responsible for this outcome in one way or another and she knows it. I also think witnessing the company being signed away solidifies her meaninglessness in the big picture. That weight the emptiness that her father left behind is heavy and that is the real source of her misery.

The car scene.... I broke this down in my thesis about Tom and Shiv but I'll also elaborate here.

THIS IS A VERY LAYERED SCENED OMG

Shiv offers congratulations and Tom is like Oh no.. no." I've seen numerous interpretations. A lot of people joke how it's just his Midwestern humility showing and that's hilarious. I accept this. This is also Tom saying "No fam, I know what had to happen today. I know how upset you are. I know this is the worst day of your life. I know if you're with me, you're not with your brothers, so that's fucked and you're fucked. And I know you lost a lot today. So don't give me fake congratulations when you're literally so miserable right now."

Tom then offers his hand. Matthew MacFadyen....... If I had a nickel for every time your hand has been in some part of deep story analysis, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot but its weird that it's happened twice.

This is where the break up happens between meanings. But even then there's multiple simultaneous meanings to this moment which is why it's so great.

Presently, I see his hand gesture as him saying "You are a fucking piece of shit... but I got you." He's got both of his wives. He'll take care of them. Shiv asked for a real relationship before all things went down. Tom said he wasn't sure, but making his hand available was his way of saying yes to her earlier proposal.

This is also a display of his newfound power. It's a silent demand that she takes his hand and she complies. Their dynamic has shifted. Shiv has always seen Tom as a means of control. But now they are both of equal power. "A queen and her prince."

The most important word to describe the new Tom & Shiv dynamic, straight from the script, is equilibrium. While their hands touch, they are not linked. They're together, but.... not together. They love each other, but they hate each other. Yin and Yang. This would've been such an interesting balance to explore had there been another season.

Epilogue Head Canons

Kendall

Notice how I didn't talk about Kendall yet. It's because his final moments are the beginning of the end.

Nobody won. Nobody lost. But the loser here is Ken. Tom is CEO. Shiv is married to the CEO. Greg still has a job. Roman is free of the Logan shackles. Kendall has nothing. He is nothing.

Kendall was never going to be able to exist in a world that was not his father's.

He has said as much before. He doesn't know who he would be without his father's company. He's given so much to Waystar. He's given so much to Logan. So much against Logan. I've seen him "get fucked. And I've never seen Logan get fucked once." It's just been loss after loss after loss since he first lost the votes and got fired in season 1......

Not a single thing anybody tells me can convince me that Kendall does not unalive by the end of the week. Kendall walked out of that board room and was dead by the time he got to the elevator.

Tom as CEO

I don't understand why people don't believe in Tom as CEO.

First of all - it's an empty suit. How exactly would he fail? It would be so against his character and against his role as a "pain sponge" to ever do anything Mattson disapproves of. Servile. Servile to the end. He always will be but is now respected for it.

Second of all - has anyone watched the Office? At some point, Dunder Mifflin was going bankrupt and the Scranton branch was the only successful branch. The high table came up to Michael Scott and was like "hey dude, how you doin that????" And Michael was like.....

If you paid attention, you would've caught on that ATN was actually thriving under Tom's leadership, even before Cyd was let go. We were always watching family drama so we never really got to see him as a boss. But remember Tom went up the ranks by merit until Shiv pushed him into ATN and his devotion caught the attention of Mattson. Also...... they're both buffoons. Michael and Tom are both goofy cartoons but also good bosses.

Therefore - Tom Wambsgans is the Michael Scott of Waystar. He'll be fine.

Shiv

Siobhan Roy is the Severus Snape of the series. I can write an essay on both of them and they are both amongst my favorite characters in their respective series. It's a joy analyzing both characters and their actors are brilliant to watch. I am that crazy fan of the most controversial of characters of Succession & Harry Potter & you shall fight me over this.

Shiv is the one who would've gone through the most change had they gone on to season 5 or even 6. What happened in that finale effected her in ways we didn't get to see. That whole GoJo deal destroyed her even though she voted for it. She didn't want it to happen but also didn't want Kendall in. She literally chose the lesser of 2 evils in a lose-lose situation and that's something she'll have to deal with.

On top of that she has a marriage to repair and a child to raise. Is there a career waiting for her or is she going to be a stay at home mom? That's a whole other thing to figure out. And no doubt Ken kills himself, none of the siblings want anything to do wit their mom, and Connor wants nothing to do with the family at all. So where does this leave Shiv & Roman - who out of all the Roys' seemed to be the healthiest relationship given all circumstances?

To my fellow Last Airbender fans. I also believe Shiv is the series Zuko - except we only see the Season 1 Zuko through the duration of the 4 seasons. But just like Zuko, Shiv is knocked back. She was in a lose-lose situation and is now her own version of rock bottom as she has to move on from the CEO drama AND the trauma her dad left behind. She will struggle and that's what will make her who she is. There is a whole redemption arc that we will never see. But that doesn't meant it doesn't happen.

I elaborate on this in my thesis on Tom and Shiv. Go check it out.

Tom & Shiv - til death do they part

I literally wrote almost 9000 words as to why Tom and Shiv stay together - but this part of the script explains why in just one simple paragraph.

She could've gotten an abortion and a divorce and moved on with her life. But she went through with the pregnancy and straight up asked Tom for a real relationship. I've seen comments about how she'll always resent her child and how she is stuck in a marriage she doesn't want to be in. Did you people watch season 4? At the end of season 3, I was all for divorce. But season 4 Shiv changed my mind on that. It's not all on the surface. You really have to read Sarah Snook's facial expressions to see the truth.

Roman

He's the real enigma here. Like.... what happens????? I have no idea

Does he turn a new leaf and start working to earn his own pile? Does he become a bum and drink his fortune away? Does he become a freeloader off of Connor and/or Shiv? Does he run home to mommy? Does he unalive himself like Kendall? Does he become a business professor? Does he work in fast food? Does he become Heisenberg? Does he go through with the purchase of Pierce? Does he return as the turkey mascot?

Roman's future is the only one I can't really predict. You're theory is as good as mine.

Succession was actually about Gregory Hirsch.

We came into the Roy family just as Gregg did. We have seen him snitch his way up the ranks as Tom's right hand and Kendall's occasional bitch. He established himself as a golden resource of information and an important asset to the company and family as he developed into the socially awkward slime ball that Tom groomed him to be. Every major event was directly or indirectly caused by Gregg. When something crazy was happening, he was always there.

He told Kendall about the CEO thing and Tom revealed truth and shiv ended up voting in his favor. Tom and Gregg were basically the same. Gregg started at the bottom and is now in the CEO's pocket. He was the only one who kind of won. He's a piece of shit but he's Tom's piece of shit. He may have been the one Roy that seemed to have a conscience, but that's just to hide how dangerous he truly is. One word from him and he could single handedly start WWIII fr fr.

Overall Review

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

What else can I say that I haven't already. The writing, the music, the acting, the line delivery, the comedy, the drama - this is objectively one of the greatest shows I've ever watched. The characters are so complex - I literally wrote over 8000 words about Tom and Shiv.

Tom !!! I have been in love with Matthew MacFadyen for some time. Being obsessed with Pride and Prejudice then seeing his small role in Deadpool and Wolverine then watching the entirety of Succession after being safe in the Tom-Gregg bubble on Instagram for many moons has been such an amazing experience. All the awards he's won, he's deserved them all.

Kieran Culkin is also a stand out. We've all grown up with Macaulay and to see these two brothers thriving in real life has been such a pleasure to witness.

As someone who appreciates good acting and complex characters - Succession was the perfect show. Straight in my top 5. I want to re watch the series. I wanna do video edits. I want to convince my friends to watch this. This show is the funniest and saddest show ever. The dialogue is shocking and things gets super chaotic. It's a great analysis on high society and generational trauma. It explores different aspects of humanity and class structure. It's super fun but you always end up crying during the end credits. It's such an experience.

My Rating: ★★★★★★★★★★
