Top 5 villains I love to root for
We love them or we love to hate them, but we'd rather see the villain win in some stories. Here are my top 5 villains I love to root for!
Loki
Tom Hiddleston did it right. He's our favorite little god of mischief. Even in other forms like Atreus from God of War or even the original Loki of Norse Mythology, Loki seems to have a fanbase where ever he goes & I'm right there.
Norman Bates
Not just a psycho, but THE Psycho. I loved seeing Anthony Perkins portrayal and as a life long Freddie Highmore fan, you just know I was obsessed with the show. Norman is just an interesting character and it's fun to see his dual personality thrive.
Walter White
This is what good writing and acting can do. Bryan Cranston is one of the greatest actors of his generation. He perfectly portrayed Walter's rise of Heisenberg. It was easy to feel connected to Walter who was desperate enough to fall into the drug industry. He spent the earlier seasons struggling with regret until one day.... He became Heisenberg and he properly became the villain in his own story. But we always saw the human in him through the love with his family which was always the balance to keep the human side alive in this monster.
Hannibal Lecter.
If a serial killer cooked as good as Hannibal, I'd become a cannibal too. Whether its Anthony or Mads, Hannibal Lecter always has such a charm to him that lures us all in. I'd be fully aware of the manipulation but I'd still let him do it. I know I'm not the only who feels this way. I see pictures of fans at meets and greets at the cons - Choke me daddy? You know who you are.
Rumpelstiltskin
My husband. The Show may have been Once Upon a Time, but it was really just the Rumpelstiltskin show. It's Rumple's world, we all just live in it. As much as I love Snow and Charming, I always loved Rumple as being neither on the good or bad side, but his own side, which meant an alliance to where ever he sees fit. Those are my favorite characters in fiction. Of course the Scottish accent helps a lot....
